I was trying to perfect the idea of a commenting system that would send feedback directly as a ticket to an issue tracking system for Glitter Gallery.
The basic idea is this:
When a user posts a project (in our case, probably an SVG file), he gets feedback from people following it. Many of them are likely to be remarks such as “Oh, it’s so cool. I like this.”
But many a time, some comments could be possible improvements. The general routine is to remember this and put it on an issues page or something. It’d be more convenient if this could somehow be done automatically, though. The other day while Emily and I were discussing, this idea came up.
I just did a mock-up of how such a commenting system could look like. Of course, it is just indicative of the concept, and has nothing to do with the design.
What do you think? I’m sure it isn’t perfect, but at least it is a start. Will update as I refine it more (y).
So here’s one small model of what would happen once a comment is marked as an issue. The design is just indicative:
I think there are a few improvements to this idea that I had overlooked so far. Once an issue has been resolved, it makes sense to gray it in the comment thread, as it won’t be as relevant any more.
